THE EDITOR

Your dashboard is
a design workspace.

Arrange the whole interface and refine the elements inside each widget. HomePanel Studio brings those decisions together in a visual editor, with presets to get you started and room to develop your own style.

THE WIDGET COLLECTION

14 widget types.
Each one yours to design.

Lighting, climate, media, cameras and everyday information all follow the same principle: a base widget, a choice of presets, and detailed control over its design.

Containers and panels organize your layout. Pro also includes custom overlays and the Overlay Trigger navigation tool.

ELEMENT-LEVEL EDITING

The details are
part of the design.

A widget’s internal layout is yours to work with. Its labels, icons, readings and controls have their own appearance and placement options.

Text & information

Position labels and values, set their typography, and choose what stays visible.

Icons & controls

Adapt the available elements to the widget’s purpose, from forecasts to playback controls.

Shape & appearance

Refine backgrounds, gradients, corners, borders and effects, including supported device states.

PRESETS & REUSABLE STYLES

Develop a style you can use again.

Built-in presets provide a starting point. Save your own designs as personal presets for the same widget type, or copy compatible styles between widgets while preserving their device assignments.

ROOMS & NAVIGATION

Organize the experience,
not just the screen.

Containers and panels group related widgets. Custom overlays create connected views, so an overview can open into a room, then into its media controls. Closing a view returns you to where you came from.

INTERACTIONS & DEVICE STATES

A dashboard that responds to your home.

Actions within reach

Supported widgets offer tap, double-tap and hold assignments. Open a view, bring up device controls or run an existing Home Assistant scene, script or automation.

Information at the right time

Conditional visibility can show a notice when a Home Assistant state matches your rule. A laundry message, for example, can appear when Home Assistant reports that the cycle has finished.

LIVE PREVIEW

From the workspace
to your wall.

Size the canvas for your display and open Live Preview to use the working dashboard. Check readability, spacing and controls with live Home Assistant data before returning to refine the design.

Live Preview can control connected devices. Display scaling preserves your layout rather than rearranging widgets.

A FEW MORE DETAILS

Working with your designs

Can I preview device states while editing?

Supported widgets let you preview values and appearances while designing. The available state controls vary by widget.

What about backgrounds and cameras?

Image and video backgrounds can be adjusted with fill and tint controls. Camera widgets can show snapshots alongside linked motion-sensor activity.

How is my work saved?

Autosave keeps changes as you work. Canvas exports preserve designs with media references, but do not package background files. Installation backups cover the broader installation.
